Description
Extremely strong Class VI extra thickness shows on USA, EPU, QUARTER DOLLAR, the outside of both wings, the branches and the leaves.Die Markers: Obverse: The obverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1940 25¢ WDDO-003. A CW spread from a pivot at about 2:00 shows on IGWT, the date, and the lower queue and ribbon. A die scratch runs NNW/SSE inside the ear. A die scratch runs parallel to the rim between the L and I of LIBERTY. Reverse: A strong die gouge (dot) can be found on the eagle’s right wing well east of the U in UNITED.Submitted By: Joe RidzyCross References: CONECA: 1-R-VIComments: The photos of this variety were taken by Billy G.
