Description
1940-D WDDR-002 is a doubled die reverse on the 1940-D Mercury dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. The top branch, the top of the axe and STATES OF show a Class II spread toward the center. Wexler notes no obverse markers. On the reverse, a die scratch starts at the lower fasces, crosses the ribbon and ends at the upper D of DIME. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
