The 1939 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-010 is a doubled die reverse (DDR) variety, where die hubbing misalignment produced visible doubling on the reverse design. This variety was discovered on the 1939 Jefferson Nickel - Doubled Monticello, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Die markers: Obverse: Die scratch below LI of LIBERTY near the back of Jefferson's head. Reverse: Slanted die scratch across lower portion of first U of PLURIBUS; slanted die scratch above small left window. Type I steps.
