Description

Seven documented doubled die obverses for the 1936 Washington Quarter attest to the variety research depth on this early-series date, just four years after John Flanagan's design debuted in 1932. WDDO-007 shows a spread towards the center on the date, the bottom of the ribbon, LIBERTY, IN, and the TR of TRUST — a pattern where design elements shifted inward during the secondary hub impression. Obverse die markers include three weak parallel die scratches running SW/NE below the I in LIBERTY, a cluster diagnostic that requires careful examination but provides reliable attribution confirmation.
