1925-S Repunched Mintmark WRPM-007
Error
Description
Cataloged by the Wexler Team as 1925-S 1-cent WRPM-007, this Lincoln Wheat Cent shows S/S Tilted (Rotated) and is noted as very similar to WRPM-006, with the key difference being that the mintmark sits much closer to the 9 in the date. This proximity distinction highlights the granular precision in RPM attribution, where subtle positional differences define separate catalog entries. Obverse markers include two short die gouges SW from the upper right of the mintmark. No external cross-references are known. Struck at San Francisco in 1925 in 95% copper and 5% tin and zinc, weighing 3.11 grams at 19.05 mm diameter, the 1925-S had about 26.4 million pieces. The tilted repunch documents angular misalignment during manual mintmark application.
