1925 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-002

Description

This 1925 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent repunched mint mark, WRPM-002, is cataloged by Wexler (doubleddie.com) as 1925-S 1¢ WRPM-002. The mint mark is S/S South. Stage A obverse: a scratch running east from the R through the U of TRUST, short scratches north from the U and second T of TRUST, and a faint north-south gouge between the bust and rim at 6:15, heavier on Stage B. The secondary's center curve is very weak by Stage C, leaving mainly a remnant on the tail by Stage D. Reverse: a crack from the tip of the left wheat ear to the first E of E PLURIBUS UNUM (A), a crack from the rim at 3:00 into the wheat (B), and on Stage C a new reverse die with short NNW scratches along the lower left of the T in CENT.
