1912 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-001

Description

This 1912 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent repunched mint mark, WRPM-001, is cataloged by Wexler (doubleddie.com) as 1912-S 1¢ WRPM-001. The mint mark is S/S East. Stage A shows a strong secondary mint mark, a small die chip right of the 9 about a quarter of the way up, and a strong chip below the bust between the last fold and the back. On Stage B only a weaker chip below the bust remains and the secondary is weaker; Stage C adds a crack from the bust to the rim right of that chip, with a very mushy mint mark. Reverse: a vertical scratch inside the O of ONE, toward the right (Stage A), weaker on Stage B and abraded away by Stage C. Submitted by Lloyd Hanson (A), Doug Yost (B) and John A. Wexler (C).
