Description
1886-O VAM-5B Doubled 18, Clashed Obverse T, Die Break N Discovery 2015 Charlie Hicks 5B III2 3 - C3a (Doubled 18, Clashed Obverse T, Die Break N ) (181) Obverse III2 3 - Radial die crack from rim over to the right side of N in UNUM and into the cap top with small displacement field break at top of N top. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: The 1886-O VAM-5 (presumably) comes with no clash or with just 1 clash (no letter transfer). A second clashing event made the 86-O VAM-5 an 86-O VAM-5A/B (no 5A are currently known). Apparently there was a third clashing when the dies were producing the 86-O VAM-5B (see photos below). My example of the 5B only shows 2 clashes. BF 11/2024.
