1879-O VAM-36 Doubled 9 Lower Left, Doubled Left Reverse Discovered by Jeff Oxman, June 2001. 36 III2 5 · C3l (Doubled 9 Lower Left, Doubled Left Reverse) (176) Obverse III2 5 – 9 in date is doubled at bottom lower left. Open 9 variety. Die marker– Long horizontal die polishing line thru lower wheat leaves into upper left of E in LIBERTY. Reverse C3l – Same hub doubling as in VAM 30 C3i reverse but with II O mint mark set slightly to left with slight tilt to left. Die marker– Double polishing line at lower right outside of wreath bow.
