Description
Discovered by Leonard Hinckley, February 1974. Revised 2021 by fogie. 13 III2 8 ∙ C3e (Doubled Date & Profile, Thread-Like Die Impression Cap, Rev Roughness ) (176) Obverse III2 8 – Doubled date with 1 slightly at bottom edge of lower crossbar, 8 at right edge of both loops and slightly at top edge of upper loop, top 7 edge and 9 left outside of upper loop. Strike-thru long horizontal fine double thread at cap to right cotton blossom over to top right cotton leaf top point. Slightly doubled Liberty's profile from forehead down to chin. Reverse C3e – Centered II O (oval medium) mint mark. Surface roughness with raised dots on peripheral letters, eagle's left and right wings, left star and slightly on couple leaves above left star.
