Revised December 2023 5 III2 4 · C3e (Doubled 18, Profile, Tripled Stars, Doubled Left Reverse) ( ? ) Obverse III2 4 – Left and right stars slightly tripled towards rim.1 doubled below upper crossbar and 8 slightly double at left inside of upper loop and top inside of lower loop. UNUM slightly doubled at bottom inside of letters towards rim. Liberty's profile doubled on hair, nose, and chin. Die marker – Two vertical polishing lines down from nostril, spike up from nose in front of eye. Reverse C3e – V CC mint marks shifted to left. Hub doubling of left reverse same as 1878 P C3b reverse with doubling of UNITED STATES bottom inside, I of In at top, top right edge of eagle’s right wing and left edge of some leaves in left wreath. Strong doubling of left inside of U in UNITED. Round die chips in field below lower left serif of both N and E in ONE. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments:
