1878-CC VAM-2B Doubled LIBERTY, Die Chips Eyelid & Forehead, Chips in CC Discovered by Leonard Hinckley February 1974. 2B(revised) II 2 · B1c (Doubled LIBERTY, Die Chips Eyelid & Forehead, Chips in CC) ( ? ) Obverse II 2– Die chip on front of forehead and on top of eyelid. Tiny die chip at right of wheat leaves. Reverse B1c - Closely spaced I CC mint marks with die chips inside both CC's. Slightly doubled base of D in DOLLAR. DPIS – In 1878 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. Emission Sequence Obverse: 14A, 27, 2B Reverse: 4, 18, 2B Comments: PL/DMPL examples exist.
