About This Coin

Official state copper coins authorized by Massachusetts in 1786 and struck at a mint in Boston. The obverse features a Native American holding a bow and arrow with a star, and the reverse shows a heraldic eagle. Massachusetts was the only state to produce both half cents and cents as official coinage.
