Description
A 1791 Washington Liverpool halfpenny token with an Anglesey edge inscription. The obverse features a bust of Washington with the Liverpool merchant connection. The Anglesey edge identifies this token as being associated with the Anglesey copper mining region in Wales, a major source of copper for token production. The Liverpool halfpennies were British-made tokens featuring Washington's bust for the American and collector markets.
