About This Series

John R. Sinnock's portrait of Benjamin Franklin, the first non-president on a regular-issue U.S. coin since the Walking Liberty. The Liberty Bell reverse was designed by Sinnock from a sketch by Gilroy Roberts. Full Bell Lines on the reverse command significant premiums. The 1953 and 1955 Philadelphia issues and 1955 are considered the scarcer dates.
