Silver proclamation pieces struck or cast in 1760 to celebrate the accession of Charles III to the Spanish throne, commissioned by Juan Estevan de Pena, the royal treasurer of Spanish Florida. These are among the rarest pieces associated with colonial-era Florida, predating the British acquisition (1763) by three years.
