Draped Bust Half Cents 1800-1808

About This Series

Half cents featuring the Draped Bust portrait of Liberty by Robert Scot, based on Gilbert Stuart's design. Production was interrupted from 1801 to 1802 and again in 1804, resulting in uneven mintages across the series. The 1802 and 1805-1806 dates are among the rarer issues. These small copper coins saw extensive use in everyday commerce.
