About This Series

Charles Barber's Liberty Head design, part of a unified series that also included quarters and half dollars. The design features Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap with a laurel wreath. The 1894-S, with only 24 struck, is one of the great rarities of American numismatics. The 1895-O and early San Francisco dates are also notably scarce.
