2024 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001

Description

2024 WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 2024 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Doubling shows at the bases of the seventh, ninth and eleventh vertical stripes, on the middle part of the shield. Obverse markers: a vertical crack running north through the top of the head and on into WE's W; a series of cracks running NW over the eye; a tiny gouge (dot) on the front of the upper lapel, with a similar one behind the upper lapel; and two gouges (dots) under the B of LIBERTY. Reverse markers: three gouges (dots) in the field left of UNITED's U; a vertical crack through the O of OF at its left edge; a gouge (dot) left of the lower part of the E in E PLURIBUS; a chip and associated cracks on the shield's upper edge over the UR of PLURIBUS; and a series of heavy diagonal scratches through UNUM.
