2024 (P) Celia Cruz Quarter - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-002

Description

2024-P CC WDDO-002 is a doubled die obverse on the 2024-P Celia Cruz quarter (American Women series), cataloged by the Wexler team. Slight doubling to the south shows on the ear, and further doubling runs north on the lower hair detail. Obverse markers: a north-south crack with a small chip crossing the eye and eyebrow; a large chip on the nose; a gouge SW of the date's first 2; two gouges on the throat, to the date's left; a gouge well to the right of the designer's initials LGF; and a gouge over the GO of GOD. The reverse is the doubled working hub WWHR-001, and it is also WDDR-001, which has very slight doubling to the north on the 2 of 25¢ and on the frill of Cruz's left sleeve. Reverse markers: a large triangular gouge left of the 2 in 25¢; a gouge between her shoulder and her right wrist; near the rim, over the U of UNITED toward its right side, a gouge; a gouge at the rim over the M of AMERICA; a gouge inside the U of AZUCAR; and a gouge inside the A of CELIA, in its lower bar.
