Description
2023-P JI WDDO-002 is a doubled die obverse on the 2023-P Jovita Idar quarter (American Women series), cataloged by the Wexler team. Strong doubling to the SW shows on the eyelid, the ear and the upper hair detail. Obverse markers: thin north-south cracks on the eye and on the tip of the nose; a large gouge in the middle of the neck; a large gouge well below the RU in TRUST; a gouge right of the L in LIBERTY; a gouge right of the upper lip; and many small gouges around the date. On the reverse, thin north-south scratches lie under Idar's left eye, a small gouge sits on her jaw over the E in MEXICAN, and another small gouge is on her shoulder over the A in LIGA. James Cassin submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
