Description
2021 WDDO-004 is a doubled die obverse on the 2021 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The date and LIBERTY show moderate extra thickness, and the ERTY is notched at its upper left corners. Obverse markers: a small vertical crack on the lower part of the Y in LIBERTY; a strong gouge (dot) at the G of GOD, on its left edge; a chip in the hair below the first T in TRUST; and two gouges (dots) between the US of TRUST. Reverse markers: many vertical die flow lines through the AME of AMERICA; a tiny gouge under the E of AMERICA at its right edge; a crack on the shield's upper left edge; a small crack at CENT's T, on its right edge; and a tiny gouge on the left edge of one of the lower shield stripes. James Wilkins submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
