Description

This 2019 Philadelphia Mint Jefferson Nickel carries the VDDR-025 variety doubled die reverse, exhibiting a medium spread with a rotated counter-clockwise displacement that creates an extra left top on the central doorway roof and side of Monticello. Stage B is confirmed in Mid-Die State. Attributed by VarietyVista. Unlike the VDDR-017 from the same year, which shows a straight southward spread affecting the doorway and bottom triangle, this variety displays rotational doubling where the hub twisted slightly counter-clockwise between impressions. The rotational spread affects the doorway roof and its side elements rather than the bottom triangle, creating a distinctly different doubling pattern. The Monticello facade provides enough architectural complexity that different hub displacement directions produce visibly different doubled die characteristics.
