Cataloged by VarietyVista with provisional attribution codes UVC and DMR pending final assignment, this 2019 Jefferson Nickel doubled die reverse exhibits an extra left top area in the central doorway of Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's Virginia estate depicted on the nickel reverse since 1938. The extra doorway element results from hub doubling that created a secondary impression in the architectural detail of the building's entrance, producing what appears to be an additional structural line in the upper left portion of the central door. Die depression and die break features provide secondary markers for attribution, indicating this die experienced both surface deterioration and cracking during its service life. The 2019 issue carries the Felix Schlag Monticello reverse used since 1938, interrupted only by the Westward Journey designs of 2004-2005; since 2006 it has been paired with Jamie Franki's forward-facing portrait of Jefferson.
