Description

2018 WDDO-015 is a doubled die obverse on the 2018 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. LIBERTY shows sloped extra thickness, with the Y's upper left branch thicker than its upper right branch. The date shows extra vertical thickness, easiest to see on the 2. On the obverse, scratches run alongside the R in LIBERTY, parallel to the right side of its right leg, and a crack and large chip lie above the eye. On the reverse, chips sit at the shield's top over PLURIBUS's U and R, along a crack following the shield's left side, and a crack leaves the T of CENT at its lower right side, running east and then north. Steve Young submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
