Description
2017-P DC WDDR-010 is a doubled die reverse on the 2017-P Frederick Douglass National Historic Site quarter (District of Columbia) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. On the first window on the house's right side, the left shutter shows slight doubling on its right side, and there is doubling at the center of that shutter's left side, by the window's lower right inside. Obverse markers: a die chip on the bust's base north of QUARTER's TE; a gouge under STATES' last S; a small gouge between QUARTER's A and R; and a gouge left of QUARTER's T. Reverse markers: die chips on Douglass's face, on its right side; a field gouge right of his neck; and on the second floor, a gouge to the left of the first window. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
