Description
2016-P KY WDDR-020 is a doubled die reverse on the 2016-P Cumberland Gap National Historical Park quarter (Kentucky) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. Tripling shows on the frontiersman's coat fringe, just left of his upper right arm. Obverse markers: a short gouge left of the upper side of QUARTER's last R; a gouge in the upper opening of UNITED's N; and a small gouge left of the designer's initials JF. On the reverse, thin NE/SW scratches run through the fields, strongest just under the brim of the frontiersman's hat. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
