Error
Description
Very slight doubling shows on the fringe of the frontiersman’s coat just to the left of the upper right arm.Die Markers: Obverse: Die chip on the base of the bust left of the designer's initials JF. Die gouge between the tops of the T and E in QUARTER. Long die gouge right of the lower E in QUARTER. Die gouge at the inner right corner of the first T in TRUST. Two large die gouges above the N in IN. Die gouge in the upper opening of the E in UNITED. Die gouge between the bottoms of the A and M in AMERICA. Reverse: Die cracks along the frontiersman's left sleeve with a small die chip at the elbow. Pre-die break depression right of the left sleeve above the barrel of the gun. Pre-die break depression along the outer ring below the P in GAP. Numerous thin N/S die scratches between the frontiersman and the lettering. Obverse: Numerous small die gouges throughout the central obverse, notably above the Y in LIBERTY. Small die gouge between the I and C in AMERICA. Small die gouge right of the first L in DOLLAR. Reverse: Numerous thin NE/SW die scratches between the frontiersman and the lettering. Thin N/S die scratch below the Y in DOORWAY. Strong die scratch extends S from the right side of the T in THE and curves W towards the bottom of the letter. Two strong but short die scratches extend NW from the A in DOORWAY.
