Description

2016-P KY WDDR-011 is a doubled die reverse on the 2016-P Cumberland Gap National Historical Park quarter (Kentucky) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. Very slight doubling shows on the frontiersman's coat fringe, just left of his upper right arm. Obverse markers: light feeder finger scrapes under the ear and over LIBERTY's Y; a large gouge under the left side of LIBERTY's R; a large gouge right of UNITED's D; a gouge left of AMERICA's last A; a gouge close to the rim under the left side of QUARTER's Q; a small gouge near the bust over the right side of QUARTER's T; and a gouge under DOLLAR's O. Reverse markers: a crack running along the left shoulder and sleeve of the frontiersman; a curved NE/SW scratch linking WEST's T with THE's E; a gouge touching the bottom of DOORWAY's last O; and a gouge touching the background hill, under the right side of WE's W.
