Description
Strong doubling shows as extra blades of grass above the right end of the upper grass strip between the great egret and the great blue heron. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Thin die crack through the designer's initials JF with a small die chip on the J. Small die gouge left of the Y in LIBERTY. Small die gouge left of the first A in AMERICA. Obverse Stage B: Likely same as Stage A. Reverse Stage A: Two small die gouges between the left ends of the upper and lower grass strips between the egret and heron. Die gouge below the grass strip behind the heron. Reverse Stage B: Stage A die markers likely still present. A die chip can be found below the eye of the great blue heron.
