2014 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DER-008T Trail Die Reverse

Description

On 2014P-1DER-008T the LB and JFM initials both show trails, and fainter lines hang below ONE's N and E and below the T in CENT; all run at 190°, slightly west of south. The number decodes as 2014 Philadelphia (2014P), the 1 of a cent, DER (reverse design extension), file 008, and T (trails). At the middle die state the obverse has a large die dent just left of the date, and the reverse has nothing noted. Vivien Bullard found the die. Rotary polishing of the working die is the usual explanation for trails; some numismatists propose die-to-hub movement instead.
