Description
2014P-1DER-007T has trails dropping from the bottoms of the letters of UNUM at 180°, due south. UNUM ends the motto on the scroll across the shield. In TrailDies' code, 2014 is the date, P the Philadelphia mint, 1 the cent, DER the reverse design extension group, 007 the file, and T marks trails. The middle-state coin described has no obverse markers; on the reverse a die dent cuts through the bottom of the first U of PLURIBUS. Michael Taylor found it. Trails are most often explained as marks of rotary polishing on the die, with some instead blaming movement of the die against the hub.
Die Markers
- Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – none noted
- Reverse is MDS – a die dent is seen through the bottom of the first U in PLURIBUS.
