2014 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DER-006T Trail Die Reverse

Description

The bottoms of the TAT in STATES carry trails on 2014P-1DER-006T, offset at 110°, east-southeast. TrailDies' file code reads 2014P (year and Philadelphia mint), 1 (cent), DER (reverse design extension), 006 (file) and T (trails). Its obverse carries no listed marker at this middle stage. On the reverse, a crack sits in the field above the shield's apex, with a smaller one from the shield's upper left corner. Joe Koelling found it. The standard account traces these lines to polishing the die with a rotary buff, while a minority credits die-to-hub movement.
