2014 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DER-005T Trail Die Reverse

Description

2014P-1DER-005T is the reverse half of a two-sided pair; its obverse is the trail die 2014P-1DEO-007T. On this side, trails come from the LB and JFM initials and from the N in both ONE and CENT, offset at 170°, a little east of south. The number covers 2014, Philadelphia, cent (1), design extension reverse (DER), file 005 and trails (T). TrailDies puts the coin at stage A, toward the end of the early state, and notes no markers on either face. Vivien Bullard found it. Where trails come from is usually answered with die polishing by a rotary tool; a minority answer is that the die moved on the hub.
