Description
TrailDies prints this number as 2014P-1DER-001, without the T that its other trail files end in; the page uses 2014P-1DER-001T. Either way it is a 2014 Philadelphia cent (1) reverse in the design extension reverse (DER) group, file 001. Trails come from the MER of AMERICA and run at 330°, north-northwest. On the obverse of the stage B coin, a faint slanting scratch runs down from Lincoln's chin toward the date's left end; the reverse has no markers. Joe Koelling found it. Polishing of the die face with a rotary tool is the accepted source of trails, although a few writers point to the die moving against the hub.
Die Markers
- Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – a faint, diagonal die scratch is seen from Lincoln’s chin down to the left side of the date.
- Reverse is MDS – none noted.
