Description
Trails on 2014P-1DEO-008T come from WE and the first three letters of TRUST, plus one line off the top curl of Lincoln's hair and faint lines on the date, all at 080°, nearly due east. The number gives 2014 and the Philadelphia mint (2014P), the cent (1), TrailDies' obverse design extension tag (DEO), file 008 and trails (T). The middle-state obverse has nothing noted; the reverse has a crack entering the field from the shield's apex and a crack with a chip along the shield's top left. Daniel Messano found it. Trails are generally blamed on a rotary polishing tool working the die face, though a minority view connects them to die-to-hub movement.

- Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – none note.
- Reverse is MDS – a die crack is seen entering the field from the apex of the shield. Another die crack with a die chip is seen along the left, top edge of the shield.
