Description
On 2014P-1DEO-006T trails leave LIBERTY and the UST of TRUST at 340°, north-northwest, toward the upper rim. The code: 2014 and P for date and Philadelphia mint, 1 for the cent, DEO for a design extension on the obverse, 006 for the file and T for trails. The middle-state coin described has a die chip in Lincoln's forehead, while its reverse has a crack heading out into the field from the shield's apex. The forehead chip separates it from 2014P-1DEO-002T, whose obverse has no listed marker. Vivien Bullard found it. The accepted explanation is die polishing with a rotary tool; a minority of specialists ties trails to the die moving against the hub instead.
