2014 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DEO-005T Trail Die Obverse

Description

2014P-1DEO-005T has trails from the ST of TRUST, offset at 350°, slightly west of north. TrailDies' number: 2014 Philadelphia (2014P), one cent (1), obverse design extension (DEO), file 005, trails (T). The entry links it to 2014P-1DER-004T, which is the reverse trail die of the same coin even though the entry calls it the obverse. Nothing is noted on this obverse in its middle state, while the reverse shows one light crack running from the shield's apex into the field and another leaving the shield's upper left edge. Vivien Bullard found it. Trail lines are usually blamed on the rotary buff used to polish dies, and occasionally on die-to-hub movement.
