2014 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DEO-001T Trail Die Obverse

Description

Trails fall from the bottoms of the LIBERTY letters and from the 14 of the date on 2014P-1DEO-001T, offset at 190°, slightly west of south. The number shows a 2014 Philadelphia cent (2014P, 1), TrailDies' obverse design extension class (DEO), file 001 and trails (T). The coin described is at an early-to-middle die state and has no listed markers on either side, so the lines on the last two digits of the date are the thing to confirm. Michael J. Taylor found it. Rotary buffing, that is, polishing the die face, is the usual explanation given for trails, with die-to-hub movement as the minority one.
