Description
2012P(CC)-25DEO-001T belongs to the 2012 Chaco Culture National Historical Park quarter, tagged CC; the date carries Philadelphia's P, 25 marks the quarter and DEO an obverse design extension, while 001T is the file with its trail code. Lines rise from the letter tops in LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, from QUAR in QUARTER and from ERI in AMERICA, pointing north-northeast at 020°. The coin TrailDies describes is late in the die's life, with a gouge left of the mint mark on the obverse and gouges around the A of CHACO on the reverse. Tom Steinbaugh found it. Trail lines are commonly credited to rotary polishing of the working die; some hold instead that the die moved against the hub.
