Description

The 2012 (P) Presidential Dollar - Benjamin Harrison, Position A is a dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 5.6 million examples, making this ranked 11th of 16 mint variants by mintage, with 6% of production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The twenty-third President (1889–1893), Benjamin Harrison was the grandson of ninth president William Henry Harrison, making them the only grandfather-grandson presidential pair. His administration oversaw the admission of six states — more than any other president. Arthur, Cleveland (first term), Benjamin Harrison, and Cleveland (second term) were issued. Production shifted to collector-only, ending circulation strikes. Cleveland is the only president to appear on two coins. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $6 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 77% copper, 12% zinc, 1% other over a pure copper core, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #512067.
