The 2012 (D) Presidential Dollar - Benjamin Harrison, Position B, struck at the Denver Mint, is part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date collection. The U.S. Mint produced 4.2 million examples, making this ranked 7th of 16 mint variants by mintage, with 5% of production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The twenty-third President (1889–1893), Benjamin Harrison was the grandson of ninth president William Henry Harrison, making them the only grandfather-grandson presidential pair. His administration oversaw the admission of six states — more than any other president. Arthur, Cleveland (first term), Benjamin Harrison, and Cleveland (second term) were issued. Production shifted to collector-only, ending circulation strikes. Cleveland is the only president to appear on two coins. Coined at Denver's facility, which transitioned from processing Colorado gold rush metal to full-scale coin production in 1906.
