2012 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-002

Description

Cataloged by the Wexler Team as 2012-P $1 BH WDDR-002, this Presidential Dollar variety was struck at the Philadelphia Mint and features the Benjamin Harrison portrait in Position A — the standard die orientation where edge lettering reads normally when the obverse faces up. The doubled die reverse shows hub misalignment during the die-sinking process that created visible doubling on the Statue of Liberty reverse design shared across the Presidential Dollar series from 2007 through its conclusion. Don Everhart designed the common reverse featuring the Statue of Liberty with radiant torch, surrounded by UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination.
