Description
On 2012P-1DEO-022T, trails rise from the letter tops of LIBERTY and from the digits of the date at 350°, slightly west of north. Its code pairs 2012P, the date and mint, with 1 for a cent and DEO for an obverse design extension; 022 is the file and T means trails. Its obverse, at a middle die state, carries no markers, and TrailDies says the reverse paired with it is 2012P-1DER-007T, another of its listed trail dies. Joe Koelling found the die. Trails are generally attributed to polishing the die with a rotary buff, though some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
