Description
Two sets of trails mark 2012P-1DEO-021T: lines from the E of WE at 080°, a little north of east, and lines on the RUST of TRUST at 340°, north-northwest. TrailDies also notes the one line on the Y's left arm in LIBERTY, presumably inherited from a master die. The number's parts are 2012P, the year and mint; 1, the one-cent denomination; DEO, TrailDies' obverse design-extension tag; 021, the file; and T for trails. Neither face of its stage B coin shows a marker. Mark Britton found the die. Trails are commonly credited to polishing the die with a rotary tool; some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
