Description
2012P-1DEO-020T carries two sets of trails. One rises from the tops of LIBER in LIBERTY at 350°, slightly left of straight up; the other comes off WE's E and TRUST's first T at 110°, east-southeast. Under TrailDies' scheme that is a 2012 cent from Philadelphia (2012P and 1) with a design extension on the obverse (DEO), file 020, trails (T). Lincoln's forehead is cracked on the middle-state coin, and a reverse crack leaves the shield's upper right edge and climbs into the field. The finder was Mark Britton. Trails are usually explained by polishing of the die with a rotary buff, though some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.

- Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – a die crack is seen in Lincoln’s forehead.
- Reverse is MDS – a die crack is seen on the upper right edge of the shield, traveling upward and into the field.
