2012 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - P-1DEO-019T Trail Die Obverse

Description

2012P-1DEO-019T has trails rising from the tops of BER in LIBERTY at 010°, just east of due north. TrailDies notes a single line on the left branch of the Y, which it believes came from a master die carrying that line. Spelled out, the number is 2012 Philadelphia, one cent, obverse design extension, file 019, trails. Nothing marks the obverse of the stage B coin; chips line a crack on the reverse at the top left of the shield, above LURI. Mark Britton found the die. Trails are generally put down to polishing the die with a rotary tool; some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
