Description
2012P-1DEO-011T has trails from the bottoms of the digits in the date and the bottoms of the letters in LIBERTY, all running at 200°, south-southwest. TrailDies' code describes a Philadelphia cent of 2012 (2012P, 1) whose obverse design extends (DEO), filed as 011 with T for trails. The obverse of the middle-die-state coin shows no markers, and TrailDies identifies its reverse as the die it lists as 2012P-1DER-004T. Joe Koelling found the die. A rotary buff used to polish the die is the usual explanation for trails, though some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
