2011 (P) Roosevelt Dime - P-10DER-001T Trail Die Reverse

Description

2011P-10DER-001T, a 2011 Philadelphia Roosevelt dime reverse, has four separate sets of trails across much of the design. At 055°, northeast, they come from DIME, the oak stem and UNUM; at 155°, south-southeast, from URIBUS, the olive stem and the E of ONE; at 270°, due west, from the torch, the OF of AMERICA and the D of DIME; and at 288°, west-northwest, from the TES of STATES. TrailDies colour-codes the four sets with arrows on its photos. The number stands for 2011 Philadelphia, the dime (10), a reverse design extension (DER), file 001 and trails (T). No markers were found at stage B. Alex Helzel found it. The accepted cause of trails is rotary polishing of the die; some argue instead for the die moving against the hub.
