2011 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Atypical Die Clash ADC-1C-2011-03

Description

ADC-1c-2011-03 is an atypical die clash on a 2011-P Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes, with clash marks on both sides. On the obverse, stripes from the shield show in the fields, a little near Lincoln's mouth and on his coat collar, and the shield's edge appears in front of and behind the portrait. The die resembles ADC-1c-2011-02 and ADC-1c-2011-01, with the marks in slightly different spots: on die 03 they sit a little higher than on die 02. The UNU of UNUM, in front of and behind the tie, is just slightly higher than on die 02 and farther west than on die 01. MDC includes a comparison set of images of the three dies to help with attribution. On the reverse, the bottom of Lincoln's nose, his jaw, his beard and part of his hair show within the shield. The coin was found by Rock Hasenburg.
